General
What is MyGen3D?
MyGen3D turns ordinary photos of a real object into an interactive 3D model you can view in your browser, share, and download. Upload a set of photos of a product and our pipeline reconstructs it into a web-viewable 3D asset.
What kinds of objects work best?
Small to medium, solid objects with visible texture and detail work best — products, figures, furniture, crafts. Shiny, transparent, mirror-like, or completely featureless surfaces are much harder to reconstruct.
Do I need special equipment?
No. A regular smartphone camera is enough. Result quality depends mostly on taking enough sharp, well-lit photos from many angles.
Photo Tips
How many photos should I take?
Around 30 to 100+ photos usually gives good results. Move around the object and capture every side, keeping a generous overlap between consecutive shots.
What are the tips for the best result?
Use even, diffuse lighting; keep the object completely still; cover all angles (top and bottom too if possible); avoid motion blur and harsh shadows; and keep the background simple and uncluttered.
Why did my reconstruction fail?
The most common causes are too few photos, not enough overlap between shots, blurry images, or a shiny/transparent surface. Failed jobs are refunded automatically — retake with more overlapping, in-focus photos and try again.
3D Generation
What are Experience, Standard, and Premium modes?
They trade cost and speed for quality. Experience is a fast, low-resolution preview that is great for trying things out. Standard is a balanced everyday option. Premium produces the highest quality and lets you fine-tune the settings.
What is the quality difference between modes?
Higher modes use higher resolution and more training iterations, producing sharper and more detailed 3D. Premium additionally lets you adjust parameters such as iterations and resolution for advanced control.
How long does processing take?
It depends on the mode and the number of photos — typically from a few minutes up to a few tens of minutes. You can follow the status as it moves through each stage of the pipeline.
Can I cancel a job that is processing?
Yes. You can cancel an in-progress job from MyPage. Credits charged for a cancelled job are refunded.
Can I do the post-processing myself?
Yes - post-processing is completely optional, and you're free to do it yourself.

Your auto-generated model is yours to download. From your dashboard, export it in a standard format (GLB, OBJ, or USDZ), then open it in any 3D tool you like - Blender (free), Maya, 3ds Max, ZBrush, or Cinema 4D. From there you can clean up or retopologize the mesh, reduce the polygon count, touch up or re-bake textures, and re-export for your target platform (Unity, Unreal, AR/web, and so on).

We also offer an optional paid service where our specialists handle all of this for you - but it is never required.

Editing
What is the "Edit" button on my model?
It opens a built-in editor where you can clean up your result, mainly removing stray floating specks (floaters) around your product so the model looks crisp.
How do I open the editor?
On My Page, find the finished model and click Edit on its card. The editor opens with your model already loaded.
How do I view my model from different angles?
Rotate by dragging on the model, zoom with the mouse wheel (or pinch on touch), and pan by dragging with the right mouse button. Use the camera buttons on the right edge to frame or reset the view. Turn the model all the way around so you can spot floaters on every side, including underneath.
How do I remove the floating bits around my product?
1. Pick a selection tool from the toolbar at the bottom. The Rectangle tool is easiest to start with; Lasso and Brush give finer control.
2. Drag over the floating specks to select them.
3. Press the Delete key to remove the selected points.
4. Rotate and repeat until the stray bits are gone.

Tip: hold Shift while dragging to add more to your selection.
I removed the wrong part - how do I undo?
Press Ctrl + Z (Cmd + Z on Mac) to undo, as many times as needed. Always undo before saving if something does not look right.
How do I save my changes?
Click the blue Save button in the top-right corner. It shows "Saving..." and then "Saved" when done.
What happens after I save?
Your model is automatically rebuilt with the floaters removed, and the model on My Page updates to the cleaned version. It may take a short moment to appear.
Any tips for the best result?
Only remove the stray floating bits, and avoid selecting the product itself. Work around the whole model (top, bottom, and all sides), make smaller selections in steps rather than one huge one, and review from a few angles before you save.
The editor does not load or looks off.
Refresh once and reopen it from My Page. It always loads the newest version.
Credits & Billing
How do credits work?
Each 3D generation costs a number of credits depending on the mode you choose (Experience, Standard, or Premium). Credits are deducted when the job starts.
Do I get any free generations?
Yes — your first few Experience-mode generations are free so you can try the service before spending credits.
What happens to my credits if a job fails?
If a reconstruction cannot be completed (for example, due to unsuitable photos), the job is marked failed and the credits are refunded automatically.
How do I get more credits?
You can top up credits from your account. For current pricing and plan details, please see your account page or contact support.
Formats & Download
What format is the generated 3D model?
By default you get a web-viewable model (a Gaussian splat / ksplat) that you can view and share instantly in the browser — no plugin or download required.
How do I embed my 3D model on my website (WordPress, Shopify, and others)?
You can place your 3D viewer on any website that allows custom HTML, by pasting a short <iframe> code.

1. Get your embed code
Open My Page, select the model, click "Get link / Embed", choose the website (domain) where you will use it, and copy the code. It looks like this:

<iframe src="https://mygen3d.com/embed.php?id=YOUR_ID" width="100%" height="500" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

The code is tied to the domain you registered, so it works only on that site.

2. WordPress
Edit the page or post, add a "Custom HTML" block, paste the code, then Update. Self-hosted WordPress works out of the box. On free WordPress.com plans, custom HTML and iframes may be blocked, so a paid plan or an embed plugin is required.

3. Shopify
The product description editor usually removes <iframe> tags for security, so add it through the theme instead: Online Store, then Themes, then Customize, select the product or page, click Add section, choose "Custom Liquid", paste the code, and Save. You can also use a 3D or HTML embed app from the Shopify App Store.

4. Other platforms
Any site that has an HTML or custom-code area works the same way: just paste the <iframe>. Some locked-down platforms strip iframes; if the 3D model does not appear, use that platform dedicated HTML or embed block, or contact us for help.

Tips
- Change width and height to fit your layout. Using width="100%" makes the viewer responsive.
- The 3D model is rendered by the device, so it may load slowly on older phones.
- View in your space (AR) is not available through this embed. For AR, download the GLB or USDZ file and add it as a native 3D model on your platform.
Can I download GLB, USDZ, or OBJ files?
Yes. You can request additional formats on demand from MyPage → My Files. Each format conversion costs credits.
Where can I use the downloaded files?
GLB, USDZ, and OBJ work in most 3D tools, AR viewers, and game engines. USDZ in particular is ideal for Apple AR Quick Look on iPhone and iPad.
Gallery
What is the Gallery?
The Gallery is a public showcase where users share their 3D creations. You can browse by category, like, and comment on models.
How do I share my model to the Gallery?
Open the model in MyPage and use Share, or use the "Share My 3D" button in the Gallery.
Can I keep my models private?
Yes. Only the models you choose to share appear in the Gallery; everything else stays private to your account.
Account
How do I change my account information?
You can update your profile and account settings from MyPage.
How do I contact support?
Use 1:1 Support from the Community menu. We usually respond within one business day.
